
The brainchild of
Masterton woman Cari Matthews. Kindness Day is aimed at getting children
into the habit of being kind to the people in their worlds and begin to turn
around the negativity and child abuse that have haunted Wairarapa in past
years. The hope is that kind children will become kind adults and kind
parents, and that Kindness Day, which is linked to the Campaign for a
Violence Free Wairarapa, will spread “like a wonderful virus”.

how women can gain safety, men's experience of domestic violence, and what
men can do to create non-violent change, preventing Violence Services
available from our agency and training and resources for practitioners.

Family and Community
Services is a new service of the Ministry of Social Development, established
1July 2004. Its role is to lead government and non-government organisations
